Fibre Optic Broadband from BT
We have already seen Virgin Media announce their fibre optic broadband and it is definatley something that all internet providers should be thinking of.As the internet itself grows, we are seeing a lot more focus being placed on large files and media. so to ultimatley view a website at its best you need to have good connection speeds.
If we think about ten years back and consider that we were all using dial up connections, if we were currently still using it then we probably could not view things such as YouTube videos and download files. But currently broadband lets us do all of this at reasonable speeds.
BT on the other hand though are now presuming about the future and have said that they will be looking to install next generation fibre optic cables throughout the UK. Ofcom has announced that it will not regulate BT’s pricing for next-generation broadband to enable the telecoms giant to make the necessary investment in fibre-optic cabling.
I do presume that when this does finally get rolled out, it will be quite a hefty monthly fee. But I definitely do feel that this is a very positive mood by BT, to move the UK forwards we have to have super fast speeds to access things, it will not only make personal navigation easier but it will make life a whole lot easier for small and large businesses. Although the cables will cost almost £3 billion to install I am sure that they will make that back in no time whatsoever.
